Coffee House
Historically Coffee Houses have come to symbolise a cultured side of humanity where people may gather to discuss politics, music, poetry, romance or rebellion but the drink was originally banned in Mecca between 1512 and 1524 for this reason. The first coffee house was opened in Damascus and they quickly became popular when they first appeared in Europe in the 17th Century. These establishments were great social levellers, open to all, and indifferent to social status, and so were associated with equality and republicanism. Coffee houses became meeting places where business could be carried on, news exchanged and the government announcements read.
Let AlleyCats Coffee House be your meeting place to solve the problems of the world, to gather with friends or to quietly relax in the privacy of the rustic cobblestone courtyard with a book and a warm brew.
